St. Yoshiwara works on a personal photographic artproject. This site is the preliminary result of a journey into the essence of imaging photographs.
"I make pictures of photographs. Through this concept, I create a gap between the viewer and the photographic reality; the reality what once was photographed becomes a genuine fake reality, thus causing an inner time/space confusion. Photography also allows me to think about me: who I am, who I used to be, where I might end up. It's a quest for any identity."
"Reproducing the image allows me to think about essential aspects and problems in photography. What is photographic reality ? Is discussing 'reality' still relevant in the age of Digitalism ? It's the big Classic, wrapped in a early digital jacket: what is photography ?"
"St.
